Over and over, Cheney errs

The Spokesman-Review

So, Dick Cheney says Joe Biden is “dead wrong” on Iraq? First Cheney said, “My belief is, we will in fact be greeted as liberators.” Um, no – wrong. Just the opposite, if you count the car bombs.

Then he said, “There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction.” Wrong again: provably, certifiably wrong.

Then, “I think they’re in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency.” Well, at that point, about 1,700 American soldiers had died in Iraq. Now the number stands at over 4,000.

He wants us to think he’s an authority? Why would anybody believe a guy with this record of incompetence on the very topic he is supposed to be an expert? And why would anyone consider Cheney even vaguely qualified to spout off regarding military matters when he dodged military service by taking five – that’s FIVE – deferments?

Just because this awful person reflects some kinky concept of government that a citizen minority approves of does not make him correct, honest, honorable or even the lesser of two evils. He’s the one who’s “dead” wrong – again – judging from all the American kids killed in his ridiculous war.
