Canning candidate proper

The Spokesman-Review

Dave Stevens certainly has the right to run for Spokane County prosecutor. But at the time he announced his candidacy for the position, he was still working for the current prosecutor, Steve Tucker.

A person of integrity with ambitions for his boss’s job would have so informed his boss and then gracefully resigned. Stevens not only did not do that, he even lacked the decency to inform Tucker before the blindsiding announcement was made. That’s tacky.

Tucker did the right thing by canning Stevens.
