Preserve final park parcel

The Spokesman-Review

People who recognize the importance of Riverfront Park and the upper falls of the Spokane River to our community need to voice their opinion to the city government. Riverfront Park is for the entire community to recreate as well as to enjoy nature. The last island parcel, the YMCA property, needs to be purchased with Conservation Futures funds. A decision on this purchase will be made soon.

Suggestions have been made to turn the Y building into condos. The local real estate market is saturated with an excess of 2,000 condos for sale. Why allow a precious community resource to be given to a few fat-cat condo owners who will have this awesome river view all to themselves?
