Shock will play AF1 lid-lifter

Spokane will entertain Milwaukee on Friday, April 2, in the inaugural game of the new AF1. Five more games are scheduled on April 3. Three teams in the 15-team AF1 have first-week byes.

Spokane has two bye weeks (Week 4 and Week 11). Shock home games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Spokane has home-and-home games against Milwaukee, Utah, Cleveland, Arizona and Jacksonville, and single games with Bossier-Shreveport, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Tulsa, Iowa and Chicago.

The Shock close the season at Orlando, home vs. Tulsa, at Milwaukee, home vs. Arizona, at Cleveland, at Iowa, home vs. Chicago and at Orlando — five long road trips in the last eight games.

AF1 has not announced division alignments or playoff formats. It would appear Spokane is in a division with Milwaukee, Utah, Arizona, Cleveland and Jacksonville, but remember that the Shock played Iowa twice last season and the two were in different af2 divisions. The schedule also indicates AF1 has a national television agreement, but there has been no official announcement.

Here’s the AF1 release .
