• Washington State: The Cougars travel to Tucson this morning, so they spent last night in Spokane (travel is easier when there is no school, heck everything is easier in Pullman, even getting a Big Mac, when there is no school). We had our notes in the paper this morning. … The Arizona Daily Star has this piece on how the Wildcats will be defending Klay Thompson. … Switching gears, our Greg Lee talked with Gonzaga Prep’s Bishop Sankey about his decision to become WSU’s first commit of the 2011 class. … According to a paid Cougfan story from yesterday (so I won’t be linking it), the commitment list for 2010 is up to 21, with Bay Area standout Kristoff Williams, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver, the latest name to add to the list. … And I do believe the process of recruiting a new offensive line coach is nearly done, so there should be an announcement in a week or two.

• Around the Pac-10: We have to start with Oregon State’s complete embarrassment at the hands of Seattle U. The Redhawks won by 51 with little in the way of a contribution from their best player. It’s the worst home defeat in OSU history. Wow. Craig Robinson becomes a father for the third time earlier this week, then has to watch his team play like this? Nice baby shower present. … So UCLA is having a down year, right? But didn’t the Bruins have a top-five recruiting class last year, and though Jrue Holiday left, shouldn’t the rest of those players still be pretty good? And haven’t the seniors been part of a lot of wins? So shouldn’t we expect them to win a few games? And will this idiot ever stop writing questions? Yes to all of the above. UCLA edges cold-shooting Cal in Berkeley as one of those seniors, Michael Roll, hits a big shot in overtime. … Stanford earns its first Pac-10 win by holding off USC. How much of the victory can be attributed to the Cardinal’s play and how much to USC’s hangover from the O.J. Mayo-caused sanctions is something we’ll never know.
