Geeks check out our sci-fi future
Because it looks as if the future of theaters will be closely linked with big-budget blockbusters, most of which will be action-type genre flicks, it’s probably a good idea to look ahead to what sci-fi will offer us in 2010. Which is why checking out this Web site might be a good idea.
What’s interesting about the list, though, is just how much it proves that Hollywood truly has gone creatively bankrupt. The year will be full of remakes. Not reimaginings or even sequels but actual remakes of such films as “Red Dawn,” “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “The Crazies.” Besides which there are the obligatory sequels, from “Tron Legacy” to “Predators” and “Iron Man,” etc.
Make sure to check out the comments. As always with most blogs, including this one, they’re often far more clever than the material they’re responding to. I especially love the comments regarding “The Book of Eli.” I, too, have often wanted to kick one Hollywood producer or another in the face.
Then again, who hasn’t?
