Body scans have drawback

The Spokesman-Review

I can remember back when we had X-ray boxes for people to stand on when they were in a shoe store. Those were taken out of the stores quite quickly because of increased radiation exposure.

When I think of total body scans for travelers on airplanes I cringe because people who travel a great deal will be exposed to high doses of radiation, possibly once a week if they have jobs that require much flying.

I work with people who do a great deal of flying for their jobs and I am worried for their safety as well as an increase in cancer risk due to the radiation. I am all for making flying safer but I am against total body radiation because of its consequences.
