Scanner: Washington Trust Robbed

One of my downtown Berry Pickers provided this shot of a KCSDeputy standing guard near Washington Trust a few minutes ago.

12:43 a.m. Coeur d’Alene police are looking for a suspect who just tried to rob Washington Trust Bank, 218 E. Lakeside Ave., Coeur d’Alene. The suspect said he had a weapon but never brandished it. He left on foot, n/b on 3rd. Reportedly he cut across the Mexican restaurant across from The Torch bikini bar. He’s described as being in his late 20s to early 30s, 5-6, 150 pounds, wearing a checkered cap, dark jacket, and jeans. CPD Blue has formed a perimeter around the immediate area.

Question: Why are we being hit by a series of armed robberies in recent months? Is it the economy?
