Time for new middle school

The Spokesman-Review

I am a community member and a proud parent of children in the Cheney School District. I have seen firsthand the need for additional facilities and space within our district. All of our schools have seen tremendous growth, and 30 portables have been added to every school in an effort to house our growing population.

My son will soon be entering a middle school, which currently holds 230 more students than it was designed for. In the past few years, we have seen an explosion of large, single-family home developments just east of town. The new middle school, planned in the Windsor area, would greatly serve these families and children. If you believe in education and putting children first, please vote yes on Feb. 9.
