DOTC: 87 Pounds Down & Counting

Dan of the County: Well, I’m probably opening up myself to all kinds of rumors about being into cross-dressing or other such “delicious” tales but thought I’d pass this along to those who have been interested in my weight loss journey and how it’s working. The other day my wife’s jeans were draped over the back of a chair in our bedroom next to mine.  I don’t know what possessed me but I thought “I wonder how much of myself I could get into those” these days.  Way back when we first got married we used to joke that we could wear each other’s jeans (although I admit hers were always a bit too long). Low and behold, I actually got them on, zipped and buttoned up, and was able to walk out into the kitchen where she could appropriately scowl and growl at me. Full post below.

Question: What do you make of Dan of the County’s feat?

Well, I’m probably opening up myself to all kinds of rumors about being into cross-dressing or other such “delicious” tales but thought I’d pass this along to those who have been interested in my weight loss journey and how it’s working.

But still, from a men’s 46 waist to a women’s size 10 jeans!  As of today, my weight loss is right at 87 lbs. since July.  The other critical factor besides the bariatric surgery to my success is twice weekly weight training at the exercise institute.  I do have some left over baggy skin but what’s under it is probably the most firmed up since the ‘ol wrestling days at Cd’A High and NIC (disclaimer:  that was the first year team for NIJC, before they got all the good ones and evolved into NIC).

I also had some interesting experiences last weekend when we took a little personal getaway trip to Boise to see the re-dedication of the Capital.  I had at least three people who I have known for years but see only a few times a year who I talked directly to but afterwards my wife agreed with me that “I don’t think they ever figured out who you were.”  Now maybe she was distracted, but I fear one was the SR’s own star Boise reporter, Betsy.

I began to have a feeling like I was in one of those movies where you are a ghost and people don’t really see you…

But all in all, I’d have to say it’s working and I feel great and will be back in my fighting prime for election year ‘10.
