LCDC Considers Ice Rink
Item: LCDC to discuss ice rink /Tom Hasslinger, Coeur d’Alene Press
More Info: Lake City Development Corp. is trying to nail down how much public benefit could come from helping improve the Kootenai Youth Recreation Organization’s proposed ice arena. Last month, the board narrowed down that possible range of help from the original $221,000 request to between $165,000 and $200,000, depending on how much public use could be gained from parking lot and trail head improvements around the rink. Charlie Nipp, LCDC board member, recused himself from any eventual decision last month after Holiday Inn Express supported KYRO’s request. Holiday Inn Express has lost revenue since the rink collapsed under heavy snowfall a year ago.
Question: Would you like to see an ice rink in Coeur d’Alene?
