Give us a brake

The Spokesman-Review

It’s time Verne Sullivan (Letters, Jan. 14) and so many others stop complaining about the cameras at various intersections. It’s apparent to me that those who have complained so loudly were caught running a red light and had to pay the fine.

It’s both humorous and frightening whenever I see someone speed through a red light in an attempt to save a few precious minutes. Humorous when I see that person have to stop at the next light anyway for no time saved. Frightening when I think of the lives that were put in jeopardy for absolutely no reason. What happens when two of you happen to be at the same intersection at the same time?

People have options to get around paying those traffic fines. Stop running red lights or take the bus. Personally, I hope you decide to take the bus. It will be a lot safer for the rest of us.
