Patrick (Hearts) Gookin’s Courage

Seems Editor Mike Patrick of the Coeur d’Alene Press is a ha-huge fan of community activist Dan Gookin. But not a fan of angry anonymous posters for which the Press is famous. In a comment (4:45 p.m. Thursday) re: Priscilla Bell’s commitment of $3000 from NIC to the Post Falls chamber building fund, Patrick said: “Dan Gookin, thanks for contributing facts and rational thoughts to this discussion. Thanks, too, for having the guts to identify yourself. I encourage anyone posting thoughtful comments to simply ignore the name-callers. Maybe then they’ll move on.” And mebbe the Press will learn to monitor its comments to prevent name-callers from taking over?
