Me: Bardenay Redeems Itself

Me: We had a couple of drinks, but our server Scott checked on us regularly so we were never waiting for drinks. We let him know when we were ready to order. I had the Mediterranean Plate appetizer. Hummus, baba gannoujh and olive and sun-dried tomato tapenade with warm pita triangles. It was VERY good. The hummas was very garlicy which is fine with me, but be warned. I thought this would be an OK dish for someone on Weight Watchers and I think I was right. Didn’t seem to be ‘oily’ or fatty. The pita wasn’t greasy either. I ate less than 1/2 and took the rest home AND their to go box is awesome. I think it could go through the dishwasher and be used again! Not the skimpy styrofoam. Full post below.

Question: What culinary sin does an eatery have to commit before you swear it off entirely?

Ok - my visit to Bardenay tonight. There were 5 of us. We arrived at about 5:15-5:30.

We were all drinking Guinness and got them promptly (Guinness takes time to pour if done properly - it’s a 2 step process, so we don’t mind waiting).

The others with me had the Spicy Asian plum-glazed wings - which I have had before - they are excellent and he loved them. Spicy and sweet and a big portion (and this is an appetizer).

1/2 Tuna sandwhich - i think this must be the Mediterranean Albacore Tuna. My friend who had this said it was very good.

Chorizo Stew Bowl - my friend who had this said it was excellent.

Ceasar Salad- again - very good.

So Bardenay has redeemed itself - but the food I’ve had there has always been good, it’s been the service that has done it a dis-service and tonight the service was excellent - thanks to Scott.
