Cheney students squeezed

The Spokesman-Review

As students at Cheney Middle School, we have many reasons why people should vote yes for kids.

It’s basketball season, and middle school students love basketball. This year there were over 30 girls and over 60 boys that tried out for the basketball team in just the seventh grade. Cheney Middle School has a no-cut policy, and only 12 players are accepted on varsity. There are multiple junior varsity teams that overflow, and as a result there is very little playing time for most players.

Second, you only get 35 minutes to eat so you don’t want to spend 10 minutes waiting in line to receive your lunch. The halls are so crowded that there has to be a teacher out in the hallway just to direct hallway traffic.

There has to be three classes and three teachers teaching in the same gym for P.E. It’s too crowded.

We are the future leaders of our community, our state, our country and our world. We want to make you proud, and together we will make it happen. That’s why you should vote yes.
