More Info: The city of Coeur d’Alene is considering banning cell phone use while driving. The city’s General Services Committee took the first step Monday by authorizing staff to look into the feasibility and legality of adopting any sort of rule. (Steve) Bell (a retired attorney who’s pushing this idea) crafted a proposed hands-free legislation for representatives to consider as a statewide ban during this session. He said he has heard it doesn’t have much chance of passing, but that doesn’t mean Coeur d’Alene can’t enact its own.
