Sam: ‘Teabagger’ Not Acceptable
Sam:
I quite disagree
the term (teabagger)
is becoming “mainstream,” DFO. Members of
the Tea Party started to initially call themselves that because they
apparently don’t discuss terms with their 20-something children or
grandchildren. As soon as many of them, a significant majority in my
estimation based on my interaction with members of Tea Party movements,
they stopped using the term and started asking people to not refer to
them in that way. The term has now been completely co-opted by liberals/progressives
and their groups and is used in a pejorative manner to refer to Tea
Party participants. And they’re still doing it because they know it
references the sexual practice. Use it all you want, but people my age and into their 30s are not
going to consider it “mainstream” in the way you do. Just trust me
on this.
