The chuckle channel?

The Spokesman-Review

I have been laughing so hard that my sides ache since reading Curtis E. Stone’s letter (Jan. 23). He states that a great name for Fox News would be “Finally, the Truth.”

Apparently all the other networks conspire to tell only lies.

Apparently devoting 59 minutes of a show to bashing people with opposing views and then quickly showing a clip of thousands of people dying in Haiti is an example of fair and balanced reporting. That’s right, Rush, “the godfather of hate radio,” doesn’t think that people should concern themselves with the plight of the Haitians.

I think an appropriate name for their network would be “The Fox Comedy Channel.” These guys are hilarious! No wonder their ratings rival “The Simpsons.” Perhaps Homer and Bart could be given their own show on Fox, with Marge and Lisa giving the opposing opinions. Wouldn’t that be great for ratings! Glenn Beck could follow wearing a big red nose and a pair of floppy shoes.

No, thanks, I will stick with the networks that concern themselves with reporting news, rather than using gimmicks and creating controversy in order to increase their ratings.
