Clinics should be truthful

The Spokesman-Review

I have heard stories from my friends about their experiences at limited service pregnancy centers in our community. These places say that they are helping pregnant women in crisis, but really, many of them give women misleading and inaccurate information to try to stop them from having an abortion.

These places have a right to oppose abortion and contraception, but they need to be clear about who they are so women know what they’re getting into when they make an appointment.

All people – especially women who may be facing an unplanned pregnancy – deserve to be given accurate health information so they can make an informed decision. A bill has been introduced in the state Legislature that will protect women’s health by improving accuracy, transparency and privacy at limited service pregnancy centers. Please contact your state legislator and ask them to support HB 2837 and SB 6452.
