Check the records
In response to John Weisenburger’s (June 25) and Michael Shea’s (June 26) letters to the editor, it’s important to note: Don Barbieri was simply correcting information that was published by the distinguished Jim Camden.
Shea should have simply searched the online voter database and seen two things. First, Baumgartner registered to vote in Spokane County on Jan. 25 of this year.
Second, according to public records, as of April 2010, he has only voted once in Spokane County.
Weisenburger could have easily found that his friend Mr. Baumgartner is still listed in the Florida white pages. Shea and Weisenburger unfortunately didn’t take advantage of the opportunity to call Mike’s high school in Spokane and find out he only attended as a freshman and sophomore.
Read Baumgartner’s website and you can see he has only lived in Washington for two years in the past decade. Shea and Weisenburger should fact check before spouting out false information.
Though I do care what Mr. Baumgartner does and where he lives, my real question is: What has he done for Spokane in the past five months as a registered voter?
