Fend off dictatorship

Please, please, tell me Lloyd Brown (Letters, June 23) is not a registered voter. Now I know why there is a movement afoot to give voters an IQ test.

“Negotiates a $20 billion fund to help ‘those small people’ ”? Did BP have a day in court? If you accidentally set your neighborhood on fire, would you want the mayor to set your penalty, or would you want your day in court?

Obama saved himself the heartache of “having to deal with a Senate where it would take 60 votes to lift any ceiling on monetary restitution”? Have you ever heard of the separation of powers? You know, executive, legislative and judicial?

“So, ‘shakedown’ or not, ‘slush fund’ or not, our president has managed to pull off something few presidents would ever be able to pull off”?

Is Lloyd willing to live in a dictatorship for convenience’s sake?

Yes, the tea party people are angry because people like him are willing to give away our freedom for convenience or treason.
