Sandpoint Couple Dies In Boat Crash

The couple killed in a late night boating accident Saturday on Lake Pend Oreille have been identified as Darby Campbell, 30, and his wife Amber Campbell, 34, both of Sandpoint. According to the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, the two were in a motorboat that smashed into the pilings and supports of the Long Bridge near Sandpoint about 11:20 p.m. A third occupant, 31-year-old Gerred Campbell, survived the crash and was taken to Bonner General Hospital. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
