Take the Bonner County Republicans, for example. Please. The Sandpoint Reader article describing their problem with the fair theme, “fiesta,” flabbergasts me. How can a group representing a major political party in the 21st century object to a Mexican theme for a fair? I hope this isn’t a signal that the Sandpoint era is going to revert to 1990s thinking that landed the county on the watch list of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
