Gun defenders under attack

Since the 1960s, a powerful, well-financed gun-ban lobby, backed by the “Democratic Party,” the media and leftists, from Hollywood to Europe, has attempted to kill the Second Amendment and disarm America’s citizens.

Defenders of the Second Amendment, like myself, have faced vicious editorial page attacks, hate mail and hate phone calls from anti-gun lobby dupes who know less about firearms than they do about liberty.

Many ignorant, objectively challenged Spokesman-Review columnists and local “news” stars have propagated the myth that the Second Amendment is about a “collective” right, not an individual right.

Now, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled, for the second time in recent years, that the Second Amendment gives individuals the right to keep and bear arms (“Court backs gun owner rights” June 29). These rulings have caused a great gnashing of teeth among freedom’s enemies.

The late Marine colonel, Jeff Cooper, once said, “The ultimate definition of political liberty is the right to keep and bear arms.”

But, the fight isn’t over. Mr. Obama is sowing the Supreme Court with radical left-wing extremists, like himself, who hate the Second Amendment.
