Noise, trash hurt neighborhood
The Spokesman recently published an article about the Flying Goat. What are the requirements to build on a commercial lot in a residential neighborhood? Neighborhood impact certainly wasn’t considered.
I was told by the city that parking space requirements are based on building square footage. However, a great deal of the seating is outside the building. There is waaaay insufficient parking, so part of F and Gordon streets has become an adjunct parking lot.
Our neighborhood is now noisy, parking on sprinklered grass, trash disposed of, blocked driveways. There have been instances of public drunkenness and public urination. The business should never have been issued a liquor license.
A city employee told me somewhere along the line permitting procedures were not properly followed. One was they were allowed to have less parking spaces because it was “assumed” some people would ride bicycles to the restaurant. In January? Our neighborhood has been sacrificed. Owners and city have a total disregard for our neighborhood. After business hours, owners drive away to their peaceful neighborhoods.
