Bill Hall: Your Attitude Lengthens Life
My wife and I have an old friend in both senses of the word “old.” We have known her for years and now she is suddenly 98 years of age. The remarkable thing about having a friend turn 98 is that there is nothing remarkable about it. Knocking on the door of one hundred has become common. And most remarkable of all, people are up walking around and even dancing around as they turn the corner of a second century. Fifty years ago, it was still common for people in their 90s and especially when past 100 to be in bed - permanently. Sometimes, there was a sad, stupid reason for their helplessness. It’s hard to believe now, but that was a time when people pushing 60 or less were warned to take it easy.
