Goodbye, Old Prosecutor’s Office

For those keeping score at home, the old Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office on Garden Avenue is no more. I drove past the office a few minutes ago … and there’s not a board left. It was there Friday when I rode past on my bike to work. So it must have been knocked down over the weekend. I didn’t realize that it was scheduled to meet the wrecking ball. There’s a lot of history there. I believe, at one time, the office served as a hospital and mebbe the old morgue. But there was nothing distinguished about it that would have made it worth perserving.

Question: Was the old prosecutor’s office worth preserving as a historical site? And/or: What should the county do with the space where the office stood now?
