The Slice: Kills bugs, and leaves hair shiny

The Slice had asked about product confusion.

“I grabbed the wrong can in the bathroom and sprayed my freshly washed and curled hair with Raid bug spray,” wrote Leonna Bowers.

That could put a new spin on some old slogans.

“Does she or doesn’t she – only her exterminator knows for sure.”

“If I have only one life to live, let me live it without bugs in my hair.”

“For a Raidiant new you!”

Know your Northwest wildlife: Coeur d’Alene’s Cathy Kraus was taking a visitor from New Zealand on a drive through a local forest when her guest called out, “I think I see a tiger!”

Said Kraus, “It was actually just a patch of goldish-orange light coming through the pines.”

Probably. But maybe those true believers searching for Sasquatch all these years have been looking for the wrong sort of creature. Perhaps Bigfoot would more appropriately be referred to as Big Paw.

Here, kitty kitty.

The person around here who holds the record for saying “Yes, but it’s a dry heat”: “Anyone from the South,” said Norma Nolan.

Postcards to The Slice: Connie and Dick O’Brien sent one from New Orleans. “This place is as different from Spokane as you can get! The air is humid, the populace diverse, the food spicy and varied, and the streets are smooth.”

Today’s Slice question: When it comes to spelling out contingency plans for an airport pickup or meeting at a mall, which best describes your style?

A) I like to have backup plans. B) I figure it will all work out somehow. C) I like to detail a six-step action agenda for what we will do if the airport loses power, cell phones don’t work, there’s an earthquake and one of us gets amnesia. D) Complicated what-if scenarios just give you more things to forget. E) The slackers and latter-day hippies in my circle make fun of me and call me anal retentive, but I’m all that stands between us and chaos. F) It’s a rendezvous, not a three-pronged amphibious assault. G) Other.
