Skills, qualities unmatched

Primary ballots will be mailed July 30. With so many candidates this year, do you know which office each candidate is seeking? Sometimes people are surprised to learn they have yard signs for two people campaigning for the same position.

In the 6th Legislative District, Position 1, it is easy because state Rep. Kevin Parker is unopposed.

For Position 2, however, there are three candidates. Republicans Shelly O’Quinn and John Ahern are each seeking the top Republican position to challenge, in all probability, our current representative, Democrat John Driscoll.

Shelly O’Quinn’s outstanding experience includes: BA, accounting and business; MBA, international studies; currently, work force development manager, Greater Spokane Incorporated; previously, director of George Nethercutt Foundation, civic education/leadership program; family services director, Habitat for Humanity; World Vision, Honduras, helping residents create small businesses. See her extensive resume at www.voteshellyoquinn.com.

Shelly’s priorities include wise use of our tax dollars; job creation; accessible, affordable health care, and a strong educational system.

We are fortunate that someone with her leadership ability, talents and passion to serve has entered the race.

Rep. Kevin Parker, Position 1, and Shelly O’Quinn, Position 2, will make a dynamic team serving the 6th District, now and in the future.
