Excess speed unjustified

The Spokesman-Review

Recently various law enforcement agencies have been involved in high-speed car chases, some over 100 mph. They also cleaned up a high-speed accident on Interstate 90.

I think it’s time all vehicles, except emergency, should have electronic speed controls. All vehicles should have a set top speed.

I don’t understand why law enforcement, auto insurers and AAA have not lobbied for such a law. I talked to a representative of each group and got nowhere. The insurance person said that it was the responsibility of the driver – that sure works for red lights, cell phones and alcohol.
