Take a hike

The Spokesman-Review

Oh my! Walk three-quarters of a mile to catch a bus (“Bus isn’t coming for many in area,” June 3).

Perhaps we should relocate these folks to Kitsap County on the West Side. Then they can arise at 4:30 a.m., walk to the bus stop, wait in the rain, catch the bus, ride to the ferry, catch the ferry, get off in Seattle, run up the hill to 4th Avenue, catch another bus, get off the bus and walk a block or two to work. Then repeat the process in the evening.

There is the benefit of chatting with friends on the ferry, including one who made the round trip from Lake Ozette every day. Hmmm, maybe if one is willing to do that in order to work, one wouldn’t need low-income housing.
