I read your story of the flower thefts at cemeteries with interest. I lost a lovely daughter of mine five years ago. She is buried at Holy Cross. About the only thing my family can do for her now is keep her gravesite beautiful with flowers, candles and other small tokens that we know she would have liked.

Many, many times someone has stolen or destroyed what we brought for her. It breaks our hearts all over again when this happens. I cannot imagine how low a human can sink in order to steal from the dead. Maybe someday this thief will also lose someone they love and then will know the heartbreak that comes when a final resting place is violated in this way. Their day will come.
