Wild Card/Saturday — 6.12-13.10

Below, you’ll see that former Aryan Nations attorney Edgar Steele has gotten himself into a pickle involving an alleged murder-for-hire plot against. Steele, for you newbies, represented Richard Butler and the Aryan Nations in that civil suit that bankrupted the supremacists. He was also involved in the infamous McGuckin standoff in Bonner County. And when he had a few extra minutes, he’d write nasty e-mails to me. He didn’t like the fact that I was — and am — partial to human rights. I may still have a couple of his e-mails. They generally began with the salutation: “Oliveria, which rhymes with diarrhea.” Which it doesn’t, of course. Ah, the good old days. I’ll watch with curiosity as Steele’s legal proceedings play out.
