Whatever are they sniffing?

The Spokesman-Review

Most politicians get elected with well meaning intents, but what wacky drug do they take after getting elected?

The city of Spokane should be ashamed of how they don’t maintain the road system. They should fix every crack and hole every year. Second Avenue is a perfect example. The main downtown feeder for I-90, probably one of the highest car counts, and we want to make it a duo-use road? Why not have the east-west bike route on a lesser traveled road? How about Sprague to Riverside? Can anyone explain why they didn’t find the money to fix Second east of Division? We have bad roads because politicians didn’t fund the maintenance of roads at the front end.

Local officials are allowing the Airport Board to dictate the closing of Geiger. Result, we need to build a new jail. Huh? Spokane city and county need to tell the Airport Board bye-bye and upgrade Geiger and not waste money on a new jail.

The Airport Board isn’t my favorite anyway. Closing McFarlane Road was one of the least public friendly things they could have done. Just for a third runway?

Politicians need to be hit with the common sense stick.
