Correct progressive debacle

The Spokesman-Review

In a recent cartoon (June 18), President Obama is greeted by former President Jimmy Carter – two small men juxtaposed between two giants – presidents Lincoln and Reagan. A nice similarity between the Gulf situations – two endangered shrimps – one covered with peanut oil and the other snake oil. Neither one knew how to clean up the mess.

Our current “little man” keeps one boot on the throat and the other kicking backside while manipulating behind his Wizard of Oz curtain. His successor in the Senate introduced a bill to promote abortions in military hospitals. Those doctors and nurses volunteered to care for injured warriors, not enforce Obama’s campaign rhetoric.

This administration is afraid to name the enemy, yet sabotages the current troops fighting two wars by pushing the undoing of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Neither Jimmy nor Barry has the leadership to thwart Iran’s boisterous challenges. President Obama has excelled in alienating America’s friends and kowtowing to her enemies. Arlen Specter and Benedict Arnold are starting to look honorable.

Let’s hope both of these little progressive presidents will only serve one term. You can’t fool all of the people all of the time. Elections, like ideas, have consequences.
