• Not to make the road trip to Oregon any harder, but not only is Saturday night in Eugene the last scheduled Pac-10 game at Mac Court, it is also Senior Night. And the Ducks’ ceremony is interesting. It not only will include Tajuan Porter, who has given WSU fits at times the past four years, but also Joevan Catron, another player who has proved hard-to-guard for the Cougars at times. But Catron isn’t playing with a back injury – he’ll still be in uniform though, just to acknowledge the crowd – and is trying to return next season. Maybe he’ll decide not to come back, pull a Willis Reed and limp onto the court for the opening tip. … Sorry, there won’t be an extra 0.3 seconds played before the game. And if you don’t understand that reference, you’re officially banned from reading further. … Bruce Pascoe takes an early look at Pac-10 tourney seeds. All I know, if the Cougars sweep they avoid the Wednesday game. If they don’t it gets dicey, depending on the team they defeat this week. If it’s Oregon State, there is a good chance to avoid Wednesday. If it’s Oregon, then the best WSU can do is tie Stanford and hope that USC does well in Arizona. Of course, if the Cougars are swept, they will play Wednesday. … Is the Pac-10 that bad? The Oregonian’s Mike Tokito isn’t sold . … Some football news, from ESPN.com’s Ted Miller. Miller looks at the non-conference schedules around the conference next fall. WSU’s is ranked in the upper half.
