WSU falls to Oregon, 74-66
COUGARS
Washington State waited a lot longer to dig a big hole for itself Saturday night, staying close to Oregon until the second half. But a 16-5 run helped the Ducks build a 15-point edge in the first 7 minutes, 33 seconds after intermission. The Ducks struggled from beyond the arc in the first half, but started the second half with a couple pick and pops for E.J. Singler, who buried both, igniting the rally. Tajuan Porter, held scoreless by foul trouble and Marcus Capers, attacked Xavier Thames to open the second half, his last at Mac Court. Before you knew it, he had eight points. Capers came back but picked up his fourth personal 1:17 later and sat again. The Cougars pulled within 10 midway through the half, but Oregon went on a 7-0 run to build an insurmountable lead. We’ll be back in about two hours with our game story. Until then …
