No entitlements

The Spokesman-Review

I believe there is a rampant misperception surrounding entitlements, and this misperception has led many to believe that they have a right or a claim to something, yet no right exists.

No one has the right to the fruits of someone else’s labor. You do not have the right to the money that I work to earn.

You are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that’s it, nothing more! Simply put, you are entitled to the opportunity to succeed. You are not guaranteed success.

That is not to say that a social obligation does not exist to aid others, but stop believing you are entitled to what someone else has.
