Donahue gave tirelessly

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane lost one of its very finest when it lost Bill Donahue. Besides serving as Spokane County auditor, Bill served this community as a tireless volunteer.

The wheelchair contained his body, but it never contained his spirit. Bill’s suggestions made the arena so handicap-accessible. Wheelchair basketball benefited from Bill both locally and nationally. His time belonged to the community until illness consumed him.

I hope somewhere there’s a glorious basketball court, and Bill, legs intact, is just getting ready to start a fast break.
