Poor Rockwood Clinic
Poor Rockwood Clinic! “Please don’t make us move. It will cost millions to relocate and take too much time.”
On the other hand, Rockwood is also saying, “Give us office space so we can send all our patients to a competing hospital.”
Sorry, you can’t have it both ways. When Rockwood decided they wanted to send 90 percent of their patients to Deaconess (instead of the 90 percent they used to send to Sacred Heart), they should have thought beyond the $50 million they sold out for.
When you get a divorce, you don’t continue letting your ex-spouse live with you. Somebody moves out. Rockwood essentially divorced Sacred Heart. Now let them deal with the consequences.
Somebody’s business manager should have figured in the cost of this kind of change, not just the cold cash they got for the deal.
Sacred Heart has no reason to be helpful to someone who turns their collective backs on the Providence system. Rockwood needs to deal with the consequences of their choices.
