Mead sweeps track titles

Mead had no trouble on the last Thursday of the Greater Spokane League track schedule, both the boys and girls finishing 10-0. The district meet starts next Thursday at SFCC at 3:30 p.m. The 3A advances 8 individuals and four relays to regional in Yakima while the 4A advances five individuals and three relays.

And Shae Carson of Coeur d’Alene avoided the jinx of being singled out and had the 10th-best discus throw in the nation at an all-star meet in Post Falls that produced a number of good marks.

If Mother Nature continues to cooperate it could be quite a run-up to the end of the season.
