I write in response to Shawn Vestal’s article about the search for a new president for the University of Washington. I know the perfect person. He is a constitutional scholar, a graduate of a couple of the most prestigious universities in the world. He currently manages a board of directors that numbers 535 people, some of whom are lunatics, and he would bring that very necessary attribute: diversity. And talk about fundraising! He is second to none in that department.

So Shawn, please tell Herb Simon the best and the brightest can be had for a 50 percent increase in salary and still come in under the current salary range.

Oh. His name is Barack Obama.
