Individual rights, starting with the Magna Carta and culminating with the U.S. Bill of Rights, is a main reason for America’s success. No country in history has done as much to protect the individual rights of life, liberty and to own property. Yet progressives within our government are determined to replace our “God-given” individual rights with government-granted collective privileges.

Rep. Matt Shea introduced a series of bills which move to stop usurpations of our rights. One particular Bill, HB 2709, the Firearms Freedom Act, protects firearms and ammunition manufactured and retained in Washington from federal control. Since fewer than 2 percent of handguns and less than 1 percent of all guns will ever be involved in a violent crime, it’s not the criminal the progressives wish to control, but rather the law-abiding citizen. After all, the possession of arms by the people is the ultimate proof that government governs only with the consent of the governed. Please help to retain Matt Shea 4th District state representative.

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed – unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.” – James Madison
