Election Day Thread/AM …

  • Noon: 5,198,307 Facebook users have voted nationwide so far.
  • 11:09 a.m. Michael Strickland (via Facebook): “I just got a robocall from a State Senator running in Madison Wisconsin. They must think we’re pretty important here in Idaho to reach out this far.”
  • 11:06 a.m. 46 of Hucks Online’s 246 Facebook friends have voted.
  • 10:59 a.m. CdA_Al: “Received this comment from a friend who commutes to Spokane everyday,”Tried to vote on my way to work this morning, but Idaho changed it’s polling times from opening at 7 am to opening at 8 am. urgh….”
  • 10:58 a.m. Christa Hazel (via Facebook): “I long for the time when Election Day marked the end of a campaign instead of the beginning of a lawsuit.”
  • 10:49 a.m. Taryn Hecker: “The polls were packed at Twin Lakes Elementary just after 8 a.m. when the Mr. and I voted. So busy that people actually had to wait for a booth.”
  • 9:22 a.m. David Townsend (via Facebook): “Had a cavity filled and then I voted. Hard to say which found more uncomfortable. Not the voting itself, mind you, but the knowledge that here in North Idaho very few of my choices are likely to win.”
  • 9:11 a.m. From OrangeTV: ” I vote at a church (Trinity Lutheran) which doubles as a daycare and they had 15-20 screaming and crying toddlers playing in the same echoey gym as the polling tables, making it nearly impossible to concentrate. The daycare workers chatting loudly above the din didn’t help the situation at all either. So disruptive and annoying.”
  • 9:09 a.m. From JimmyMAC: “Saw someone holding Currie sign at 6:45 at Appleway and Ramsey on my way to Rotary (could have been Rick Currie but it was too dark to tell). Saw people holding Nilson, Ketchum, Hissong signs at corner of 95 and Appleway at around 8:15 on my way to vote.”
  • 7:14 a.m. From Minnick aide John Foster, via Facebook: “Given what happened a year ago (in Coeur d’Alene City Council election), I hope all 17 of Mike Kennedy’s kids vote.”
