Shock sign QB
The Spokane Shock have signed quarterback RJ Archer, a William & Mary product. Archer doesn’t have AFL experience, but he did have a brief stint in camp with the Minnesota Vikings.
Archer is the second QB on the Shock roster. Kyle Rowley, who led Spokane to the ArenaBowl title last season, re-signed in September.

The Spokane Shock announced today that QB RJ Archer has been added to the 2011 roster.
A two-sport athlete (football and baseball) at the College of William & Mary, Archer completed 290/490 pass attempts for 3,190 yards with 19 touchdowns and ten interceptions. Most recently, Archer was signed as an undrafted free-agent by the Minnesota Vikings.
As a senior, Archer, 6-2 220, received All-Conference honors in only his first season as the starting quarterback. In his first two seasons with the Tribe, the athletic Archer was used as a wide receiver and recording 69 receptions for 940 yards and one touchdown. As a QB, one of Archer’s best collegiate performances came against second-ranked Villanova when he threw for 354 yards and tied a single-game school record with 35 completions.
“RJ has a strong arm and he is very athletic,” Head Coach Rob Keefe said. “Under Coach Biletnikoff’s tutelage, I really think RJ can be a successful QB in this league.”
