Bear facts

I appreciated Daniel Craner’s forecast of no more robocalls or political attack ads (Letters, Nov. 7), and we can look forward to hearing good things again. However, some Mama grizzlies’ hunger is not so easily satisfied.

With occasional inbreeding, they will continue to scavenge for food and votes and have been known to prey on moose, deer, elk and fleshy Democrats. Mama grizzlies usually prepare for winter by gaining 400 pounds and locate a safe cave to hibernate in until spring. Some Mama grizzlies haven’t gained a pound due to their frenzied activity over the past few months.

For some of these reasons, I believe that most Mama grizzlies are more like polar bears with fluffy white fur, superbly insulated thin skins and smaller brains. With an extremely developed sense of smell for the color blue in a red sea, polar bears are extremely unpredictable and will stalk their victims, often unaware of being hunted. Not taking them seriously, anyone could be their next meal.

Mama grizzlies often hibernate when the season is over, but polar bears are active all year round, and with intense fighting, many have scars and broken teeth, clawing their way with a smile.
