River City elections are over. Hidden donors who funneled money to candidates can return to their caves. I ask local voters to now ask more “how” questions.

We need public servants who function for the public good; we live by their laws. Will Steve Tucker’s oath of office include a day’s work? Will Al French as a commissioner speak truth or cut backroom deals? Will John Ahern read a dictionary to discover he’s our Olympia voice?

We can’t ignore how officials function for Spokane. I hope Daryl Romeyn keeps an eye on Cathy McMorris Rodgers. Will McMorris Rodgers help her citizens in Eastern Washington?

I suggest that each person of voting age watch votes in the national, state and/or local bodies to discern who is looking out for the citizens. We face large cuts across the board in many programs at all levels. We can’t get more for less, but we can get more if smarter.
