Shootings trigger fears

This morning I read about another shooting done by law enforcement officers in Spokane. This time it was an unarmed pregnant woman who was coming out of her home on a ladder. Unwise, yes. But deserving to be shot at?

Frankly, with the many shootings of citizens in our city, I am terrified of law enforcement for the first time in my life. Something is terribly wrong in this town. Terribly wrong, and it’s undeniable.

I don’t feel safe anymore and it isn’t because of criminals. That should be crazy thinking, but it isn’t anymore. I’m not the only one.

What can be done? Citizens shouldn’t have to be afraid of the people who are supposed to be protecting them.
