Resume right for court

I met Judge Debra Hayes in Deer Park this summer. I was impressed with her demeanor. I try not to make snap judgments about those for whom I vote, so I checked her out, and her opponent. He is a criminal defense lawyer who graduated in 2004.

Try as I might, I could not find the amount of information that I was able to find for Judge Hayes. I suspect that as a criminal defense attorney, his focus is to get criminals off the hook. That leads me to think that he may jeopardize public safety.

I found that Judge Debra Hayes has a background similar to myself. We were not raised with a silver spoon in our mouths. Born in Spokane and raised on a farm in Spokane County, she graduated from Riverside High School.

Judge Hayes worked her way through college as a single parent – no easy task. She worked at a hotel during law school. Hired by the prosecutor’s office after the bar exam, she successfully prosecuted crimes, in both Superior and District courts. She was elected to District Court in 2006, where she has diligently served the public. Judge Debra Hayes gets my vote.
