Record of bad choices

Patty Murray continues to support ever-increasing governmental spending and control. She voted for the failed $814 billion stimulus, the $26.9 billion financial overhaul and the $26.1 billion aid to states’ bills, all of which are largely paybacks to unions and corporations that support Democrats.

She voted for the disastrous health care bill, giving the government control of another one-sixth of the U.S. economy. The pending cap and trade (tax) energy bill will, as Obama says, “cause the price of electricity to necessarily skyrocket.” As she votes with her party 96.7 percent of the time, she’ll probably again stand against the will of most Americans while siding with Pelosi, Reid and Obama for cap and trade.

This crippling debt and added governmental control has left us with national unemployment still hovering near 10 percent, a sinking economy and millions of Americans who continue to live with fear and hopelessness.

A message needs to be sent to Murray and other politicians who refuse to listen to their constituents. Murray has been in the Senate for 18 years. It’s time for her and other incumbents who choose allegiance to their party over doing the right thing for the people they represent to go.
